Angel Hernández conceives the human being submerged in an everlasting process of change, from his birth to his final unavoidable fate.
His fascination with the lapse of time, seen by himself as a spiritual journey, makes him create a fantastic world wherein divine help is always present on the believer’s journey.
The mystery of Angels as a creation of God (both as guiding spirits and messengers), the compassion arising from his innocence, his flying machines and the way in which God reveals His Divine truth to man by means of his prophets are some of the encoded keys that he uses in his painting in order to show his own concept of a spiritual and fantastic world.
His concept of man; blind facing his own destruction, as well as his concept of the chaos that seizes the world are the basis of what he wants to show in his art.
He says to have been influenced by Hieronymus Bosch, Ernst Fuchs and representatives of the “Ilustración Americana”.
